Taste Events is the catering division of the Off the Hook Restaurant Group and offers full service catering to allow guests to enjoy our award-winning chefs’ cuisine, not only at events in one of our four restaurant locations but also at off-site events. Taste Events is the premier caterer for any occasion on the shore such as weddings, private parties, baby showers, and corporate events. Our catering team can provide our exceptional services to events of any size. Event Coordinator, Katie Green, and Executive Chef, Matthew Cornelius, will work with you to create a customized delicious menu designed with your special occasion in mind. Our catering services feature an off-site liquor license for Maryland and Delaware events so Taste Events can provide off-site bar services for events. If the client provides alcohol, we can provide glassware and service for an additional fee. Taste Events also offers exclusive access to the area’s premier vendors which allow us to arrange for other services for your event such as photography, floral arrangements, chairs and tables, linens, and even tents!

Owners, Steve Hagen and Kevin Frey, began Indian River Seafood Company in 2010. Their vision was to offer residents of and visitor to the Quiet Resorts of Delaware the freshest seafood, innovative cuisines, and exception service. In 2010, Indian River Seafood Company opened its first restaurant, Off The Hook. After a very successful first year, the company expanded by opening its second location Just Hooked in 2011. Now in 2013, they have done it again with Hooked in Ocean City, MD.
Going beyond just supporting local farmers, local fisherman, and other local purveyors, Indian River Seafood Company supports The Center for Inland Bays. There are numerous events during the year that focus on raising funds to support this worthy cause. I've had 3 delicious dinners at Off the Hook in the past year, and each has been a special meal. The food is fresh and the recipes unique. Who would expect scallops over short rib stroganoff? The entrees are wonderful, but leave room for dessert. The chocolate Terrine is a work of art.
We have dined here 2 times and each time the food & service was excellent. When you are in the Bethany Beach area go to "Off The Hook"
Really good soup,salads and seafood for four of us at a recent lunch. Service was really good and our waiter was able to create a Long Island Ice Tea without any trouble. The beet salad, oysters, cauliflower bisque and roasted broccoli were all excellent. The restaurant is easy to miss since it is in an unassuming strip mall, at first we thought it was closed for the season. Fortunately we persevered and were treated to a great meal.
This place is off the hook! Been looking for a place like this around the beaches since I moved here a year and a half ago. Nice but affordable and personal. And delicious! Love!

Awesome atmosphere, great service, and incredible food. Enough said??? I love this place. The food is outstanding. Some of the best calamari I've ever eaten, an amazing cheese steak, and a fresh oyster selection. In addition, they have an incredible beer slection. An added bonus, Happy Hour specials are great with shrimp, wings, nachos, burgers, etc all at really good prices. We go here at least twice a week and simply love the place!
My wife and I have been visiting the Bethany Beach area for years but this year we decided to give Off The Hook a try after reading their menu in a local paper. We cannot believe we passed this place by so many times before. We have tried it twice for both lunch and dinner and both times the food has been terrific. This place is definitely going to be our "go to" place for seafood, although my wife had one of their specials which was quail and she loved it. Do not pass this place by, the food is great! One thing to also note is that their dishes are very unique, inventive and tasty.
Based on reviews on Trip Advisor we decided to have dinner at Off the Hook. It was excellent. We visited on a Wednesday evening which turned out to be Ladies Night which meant my dinner was half price. I chose the surf and turf which was shrimp and filet. It was outstanding. My husband had the swordfish and was very happy with his dinner. For dessert my husband chose the Key Lime Pie and I had the French Toast Bread Pudding. Key Lime pie was terrific but I must say my French Toast Bread Pudding was so delicious. If you love french toast and bread pudding...this was the perfect combination. It was served with a side of cinnamon ice cream which was the perfect compliment. Our waiter was attentive and helpful but allowed us to relax and enjoy our time at the restaurant. Would definitely go back again.
I love this restaurant. I spent a week at a tennis resort close-by and went here everyday. The food is healthy, creative and fresh...delicious. The staff is excellent and friendly. Miss this place now that I'm home!!
You can't beat this restaurant for seafood. The best is Mondays for $2 Tacos!! They are wonderful. Also the mussels are out of this world. Try all of their restaurants.

The food is fresh and delicious, the atmosphere is charming (and in a stripe mall yet!) and the service, even on those super crowded summer nights, is warm, friendly and efficient. Everything that we have ordered there is good but the calamari is super delicious and so incredibly tender. And then there's $3.00 fish/shrimp taco night in the off season. It's also $5 burger and fries (pesto fries, yum!) That's all delicious too.If it's crowded the wait is worth it or you could drive down to Fenwick to the larger Just Hooked (same owners - same food). Of course there may be a wait there too. I had to put a date in "when did you travel?" but we're local and go to one of the "hooked restaurants" at least once a month. And in addition to whatever else we order, our appetizer is always the calamari!
Though a small restaurant, it's always worth the wait. Food is fresh and seasonal. Service is most always good.. nice little bar too.
The food is always fresh, and they always listen to customer requests. The menu changes with the seasons and is a great farm to table restaurant.
We had dinner at this excellent restaurant at the end of a trip to Delaware to house hunt. It's quite small and has a first class menu. I had the paella, which was delicious -- a dish that I have loved since travels to Spain -- and I definitely was not disappointed. For desert, my husband and I shared a bread pudding -- another favorite of mine -- and again I wasn't disappointed. It would almost be worth moving near there to be able to eat at Off the Hook on a regular basis. Or to have lunch (again) at one of the other restaurants owned by the same people, Hooked Up, which has a wonderful bar and where I can see us hanging out 5 nights a week!
Year round a great place to eat as well as their sister restaurant Off the Hook. Fresh fish, great calamari. Off season, each night has a special.

This is my first time taking a long weekend in Bethany and I was looking for a night out with my lady as far away from Boardwalk food as possible.
We were impressed with the menu online and our expectations were exceeded once we arrived at the restaurant. Our server, Marina, was very friendly, knowledgeable and ready to describe the specials in detail without trying to dictate our choices.
Our cocktails arrived promptly and the Strawberry Basil Martini was well balanced between both flavors and my Sazerac was not only on the menu at all, but also well made and strong. The Red Curry Mussels arrived shortly after. The portion was generous with plump mussels in a piquant and savory broth that we kept sipping even after the mussels were gone.
Soon after we finished, our entrees arrived, and marina was quick to follow with the wine. The scallops were rich and buttery, properly seared and complimented by the sweetness of the local corn and smokiness on the braised bacon broth. The local rockfish special came with crispy skin over eggplant stewed with tomatoes olives and capers. It was full of flavor and obviously made with care.
Finally, we were spoiled for choice between several dessert options. Without hesitating she suggested the chocolate tureen. We were not disappointed.
I worked through college in restaurants and bars and I am super critical when it comes to restaurants and value for money. I feel the value of the food and service exceeded what I paid for it. I know when I find something worth supporting, and this is it. Cheers!
We thought we would give this local place a try for our (rare!) date night and we are glad we did! The decor is fresh and fun, with fresh flowers at every table. Everything looks clean and cozy. They have packed a LOT of tables into a small space, but not uncomfortably so. Fun, light music played the whole time. You can see into the kitchen, which was fun. All the smells coming from the kitchen added to the pleasure of the meal, though we did leave with our clothes smelling of the fried and grilled foods.
I ordered an Arugula & melons salad with a filet add-on. The steak was delicious; perfectly done, wonderfully flavorful! The salad was tasty...an interesting combination of flavors. The bitter flavor of the arugula paired with crispy prosciutto, sweet melon, citrus dressing, topped off with creamy goat cheese was amazing!
My husband had 2 appetizers: calamari and mussels. The calamari was a great portion for the price and delicious. The mussels were Thai infused cooked with coconut milk, and bathed in a ginger sauce with bok choy. He loved it!
Our waitress was as sweet and attentive as could be. In all we had a wonderful night out at Off The Hook!
Off the Hook serves up seafood of a quality that is simply unmatched in the Bethany Beach area. If you're looking a nice meal to close out your beach week trip or just a great dinner out, Off the Hook is a great choice.
There's something to be said for the ambiance of this place. Cozy, intimate, inviting, all those adjectives work well to describe the setting here. We loved the white tablecloths and candles at all the tables. Paintings-softer kinds of paintings-line the walls and contribute even further to the mood of the establishment.
Start with the buttermilk calamari. Fried in the leanest sense of the word, this dish is creamy, tender, and just a little spicy.
The table ordered a few different entrées-I went with the crab cake. Expectations weren't through the roof, often the crab cakes on the shore are at least a third Old Bay seasoning, and far too salty as a result. Much to my surprise, this dish relied on the crab and breading alone for the flavor. It was excellent, and I wish more restaurants would do their crab cakes in such a way.
Table entrees included the fish and chips, (solid if not special) fried scallops, (technically perfect with a taste to match) and seared tuna (prepared well, but I'm not a sushi grade guy). I feel safe in recommending anything on the menu here.
No dessert or drinks for us, but they have a small offering of desserts and a larger and more unique drink list if you're so inclined. A note on the service-I love seeing a waiter/waitress that actually knows a thing or two about the menu. Our waiter offered us great suggestions, brought out our food quickly, and was all around great.
Off the Hook offers serves up the kind of seafood you wish you could find at the beach. Highly, highly recommended.
Wonderful food in Bethany. Service was quick even though it was packed. So nice to get something fresh and healthy in the world of pizza, soft serve, and taffy! The kale caesar really hit the spot and my fiance loved his scallops on risotto. Great cocktails, great service, and their oil-soaked bread is to die for.
I recommend going on the earlier side to avoid a wait!
Lovely lunch with excellent service. Our server offered suggestions when asked. The food was superb. We already have the meals for our next visit planned! Small space so go when it isn't likely to be busy.
Really glad we stumbled upon this place-- will definitely be returning. The service was excellent, thanks Kimberly, dinner last night made for a very pleasant outing with friends. For appetizers we had the fried buttermilk batter oysters with crumbled blue cheese, and they were so tasty we considered placing another order. From the Daily Specials, we had the grouper crusted with bacon, and the delicately flavored skate entrees. On the regular menu, the scallops were perfectly browned, and had a complimentary bacon taste on the hominy they were served over. The vegetarian entree had all 4 of us coveting the artichokes in their creamy lemony sauce. Dessert was the creme brulee, and it was as good as any in a much more expensive restaurant.Perhaps the highest compliment paid was by our extremely picky friend who declared "Service was excellent, food was awesome, place is not too noisy and the atmosphere was pretty cool"
We ate there last night -- party of ten. We took Mom and her sister, two of the best Italian cooks in the world. Everyone -- yes everyone enjoyed the appetizers (best calamari ever), salads, entrees and desserts. We had swordfish, surf and turf, shrimp, scallops and steak. No one was disappointed. Hats off to the chef, kitchen, waitstaff and management! BTW, you will not find a smoother or more delicious Key Lime Pie! Thanks.

Going to Off The Hook is always a pleasure! The food is out of this world—so creative and fresh. The servers couldn’t be nicer and I love that the chef walks around the dinning area. It is so welcoming and always a must when we have out of town guests.
Great menu, a small place always packed, but go at the off times for a superb experience. Fresh seafood, done perfectly, and all their dishes are good quality. The service is terrific too -- especially Marina. They will do anything for you, and the locals here know where to go -- to Off the Hook.
Off the Hook does not take reservations, so we were advised to arrive early. It was full by 6:30 on Friday, and there is no room to wait inside. The excellent local server brought us warm bread, drizzled with oil, and helped us choose a wine. We were lucky to be there on the last night for the $25 3 course meal special. Look on their website or call for other special offers. This may have been the most delicious butternut soup I've tasted, accompanied by a chestnut bacon dumpling. The sauces are complex and flavorful. Our table can recommend the shrimp & creamy grits, roasted spaghetti squash salad (who knew?), seared scallops on a bed of sweet potato puree, and perfectly tart key lime pie. It's a bit noisy and crowded to linger, so get there early, leave the kids at home, and look forward to a fresh, delicious meal.
Off the Hook cooks it's food.... from 'farm to table'. Homemade, delicious food! It was wonderful! We were seated close to the back where we could watch them cooking...they are clean and professional. The food was not only healthy and good for us, but so much flavor. Yum!! If you have a sweet tooth...you must try the Key Lime Pie. Ohhhhhhhhhhh, baby!!! Yes, next time, I'll start with the Key Lime Pie...homemade and I thought I was in heaven. Enjoy!
Had a wonderful dinner last saturday in Bethany Beach at a cute little place, of course I found it on tripadvisor and the review were right. Great location, plenty of parking, great servers too. The food was fantastic too. And the bread, very good! we had two servings.
I "discovered" Off the Hook through an ad they'd placed in "Coastal Point," one of the area's free weeklies. I was in town for a mid-week stay to explore the area. The restaurant offered a number of winter specials; I had the $2 fish tacos and the $3 craft beers on a Monday. The exterior of the place in a strip mall is very deceiving; inside it's nicely appointed with white tablecloths, nice furniture, subdued lighting and good service. (Parking was a little tricky, though. There are 15-minute parking signs in the lot for a nearby pizza place and I wound up parking around the back.) The other special for that Monday was a $5 burger with fries, which also looked great! Good for them...they were very busy for a Monday night in off-season. When I left people were waiting to be seated. Wednesday was half-price ladies night and I was a little sorry I didn't go back (they have a beef short ribs dish that really sounded good) but wanted to check out someplace different. (I went to the Cottage Cafe, which was also very good, although the ambience left something to be desired.)

I have been to this restaurant a few times and have never had a bad meal. Even though space is limited as it is a very small place, I still enjoy it. The food is creative, fresh and enough variety that you can find something you like. I love what they do vegetables. It isn't your usual baked potato and corn sort of place. I have come to love vegetables that I thought I disliked or had never tried before. I have had the scallops which is still my favorite but also have tried the chicken and Atlantic salmon and have been impressed with it all. Theri crab and corn bisque is very, very good and don't like the jalopeno reference of the bisque scare you off. It is not that hot or spicy. You just get a hint of the jalopeno flavor. It can get crowded fast so best to go early or you can also visit their sister restaurant called Just Hooked in Fenwick Island, DE. Food is just as good there and it is larger place. I am hoping this place is around a very long time so I can continue to refer people here and hear their rave reviews as well. Prices are also very reasonable and don't forget to check out their off season specials too.
Excellent seafood by the folks who later opened Just Hooked in Fenwick. Cozy but the food is a pleasant surprise for this little shopping center on Route 26.
My husband and I enjoyed our entire meal. We sat at the bar because the restaurant was full and had a great time watching the kitchen staff making delicious looking meals. The man who waited on us was so nice and attentive. We definitely plan on going back next time we are in town.
